Introduction
There are currently no less than 70 entries in our Festivals Guide for the Highlands and Islands. There are Festivals for almost everyone’s taste: books, film, food and drink, visual arts and crafts, and music of all styles – jazz, classical, folk, traditional, rock, pop and dance. The new wave of music festivals including Rock Ness, Tartan Heart, Connect and Blas have put the Scottish Highlands firmly on the UK festival circuit, but we have long had many treasures to be proud of in Heb Celt, the St Magnus Festival, Skye Festival, Islay Jazz and many more. The festival season now extends well into September and there are Winter festivals too offering a unique Highland experience in some of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.
